MyUpMonitor ("we", "us", "our") operates the myupmonitor.com website and uptime monitoring service. This policy describes what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
Data We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and store a bcrypt hash of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
Monitoring Data
For each monitor you create, we store:
- The URL you are monitoring
- Check results: HTTP status code, response time, and timestamp
- Check configuration: interval, check type (HTTP, TCP, DNS, SSL)
- Incident history: when your site went down and recovered
Billing Data
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, but we never see or store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details.
Session Data
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party cookies.
How We Use Your Data
- Provide the service — run uptime checks, display results, calculate uptime percentages
- Send alerts — email notifications when your monitors go down or recover
- Process payments — manage your subscription through Stripe
- Communicate with you — respond to support requests, send service updates
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your monitoring data with third parties.
Third-Party Services

- SMTP email — we use our own mail server to send alert notifications and account emails
Data Retention
- Check results are retained for the duration of your subscription
- Incident history is retained for the duration of your subscription
- Account data is retained until you delete your account
When you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.
Your Rights
- Access — view all your data through the dashboard
- Export — export your monitoring data via the API
- Delete — delete your account and all data from Settings
- Correction — update your email in account settings
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data:
- Passwords hashed with bcrypt (12 rounds)
- All connections use HTTPS/TLS
- Parameterized database queries (no SQL injection)
- API keys stored as SHA-256 hashes
- HTTP-only secure session cookies
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email.
